NIVRE Catastrophe Response & Projects

The NIVRE Catastrophe Response & Projects Foundation, formerly BCE Catastrophes and Projects, works on the project-based coordination and registration of claims resulting from major disasters on behalf of the government, municipal authorities and business in order to ensure fast and adequate claims settlement.

Insured and uninsured claims

Catastrophe response involves claims of two kinds: insured and uninsured claims. Insured claims are the responsibility of insurers. The NIVRE Catastrophe Response & Projects Foundation has therefore been included in the catastrophe response scenario of the Association of Dutch Insurers.

The services of NIVRE Catastrophe Response and Projects for government authorities is therefore, by definition, limited to uninsured claims covered by the Dutch legislation on subventions in cases of catastrophe responses  and major accidents (the Dutch WTS Act) or other national arrangements.
